Human-induced activities introduce trace elements, chemical contaminants, into the environment, resulting in threats to both wildlife and human health. Many investigations have focused on the contamination of apex raptors, which function as sentinel species to track environmental pollution. Concerning long-term biomonitoring of multiple trace elements in raptor populations, the amount of data remains comparatively low. Liver samples from common buzzards (Buteo buteo) collected in the United Kingdom from 2001 to 2019 were analyzed to determine the concentrations of 14 essential and non-essential trace elements, and to ascertain whether these concentrations exhibited any temporal trends. Additionally, we quantified the importance of specific variables for modeling elemental accrual in tissues. In most buzzards, hepatic concentrations of harmful elements, with the exception of cadmium, were below the biological significance level for each element. Year-to-year seasonal shifts in the hepatic concentrations of elements like lead, cadmium, and arsenic were notable. Their peak arrived during the late winter months, while the trough arrived in late summer, an exception being copper, which displayed a contrary seasonal pattern. Subsequently, the concentration of lead within the liver displayed a consistent increase across the observed period, whereas strontium levels exhibited a marked decrease. The school-based National Longitudinal Study of Adolescent to Adult Health (Add Health) furnished data on adolescents' health behaviors and conditions. Wave 1 (1994-1995), Wave 4 (2008-2009), and Wave 5 (2016-2018) data were the subject of investigation in this study. Analyses and visual plots were used to explore the possible relationships between parent-reported adolescent migraine status (PR-AdMig) at week one and fifteen self-reported medical diagnoses (SR-MDs) collected at weeks four and five. From existing adult studies, we pinpointed 11 conditions anticipated to correlate with PR-AdMig and four conditions predicted not to correlate. Saltwater intrusion is a projected consequence of sea level rise (SLR) for coastal regions which hold 25% of the world's population. Subsequently, alterations in the soil biogeochemistry of currently non-saline and/or well-drained soils, resulting from saltwater intrusion, are a significant source of concern. Farmland in major broiler-producing regions, where significant amounts of manure containing organic arsenicals have been applied for many years, is anticipated to experience saltwater intrusion. Our in situ real-time attenuated total reflectance-Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (ATR-FTIR) approach was used to determine how SLR might affect the speciation and mobility of adsorbed inorganic and organic arsenic. The technique was employed to investigate the adsorption and desorption processes of As(V) and 4-aminophenylarsonic acid (p-ASA, a poultry feed additive) on ferrihydrite (Fh) in sulfate solutions, over a range of pH values. As(V) and p-ASA adsorption rates augmented at reduced pH levels.
