From the fPRC construct, the most important item for positive participation experiences for adolescents and young adults was “Environment-Availability”; conversely, “Environment-Acceptability” stood out for negative experiences. Comparing hospitalized patients with HS to those without HS in the overall hospitalized population, this study employed a cross-sectional cohort design. The French national hospital discharge database, a comprehensive and detailed record of all reimbursed hospital stays in the country over the 10 years from 2012 to 2021, was the source of the data extracted. All patients, aged between seven and seventy-five years, having experienced at least one stay in a French hospital, were encompassed in our study. 140 propensity score matching was used to create two groups of patients exhibiting similar characteristics after adjusting for age, sex, smoking status, and obesity. The minor (7-17 years) and major (25-75 years) populations were each the subject of independent subgroup analyses.
